I just wanted to follow up on a post I made before I went to Italy in February. I was looking for cheap room (50-60 euro/night) and put a post here. I got mixed reviews ranging from that is impossible to you can do it with research. Well I found a gem and it is listed in the Rick Steves Florence guide: B&B Soggiorno Alessandra is on the other side of the river and in February it was only 35 euros a night. The place was great. Not extravagant but it had everything I needed. It was clean and Alessandra could not have been nicer. She said the rates do not go up that much even in high season.
So I wanted to pass that along. It is a great location, great place and a great hostess.
