I only have a rough itinerary for my trip in April, but could use some help. I have a very limited amount of time, but would like to see the Amalfi coast. Does this sound reasonable:
-Arrive by train in Naples around noon (not likely to be able to get there any earlier due to prior scheduling)
-Leave luggage at train station; take a quick walk around Naples and have lunch
-Train to Pompeii; leave luggage at entrance; spend an hour or two visiting the site
-Train to Sorrento; finally arrive at hotel. Dinner in Sorrento.
-Day 2: bus ride on Amalfi coast; possibly take a ferry or two if they are running.
-Day 3: head back to Rome to catch plane (not booked yet, so departure time unknown).
I've read you can leave your luggage at the Naples train station and at the entrance to Pompeii...how safe is this? Anyone done it before?
If I end up getting any more time available, I will of course add another day to this part of the trip to make things a little easier.
