Verorna Vicenze Bologna road damage?

We will be driving from Verona to Venice, Bologna to Florence (driving everywhere) 13 June - 18 June. How would we get information on road conditions or if should we circumvent certain areas? would appreciate hearing from Rik or someone from the area. thanks.

If you're referring to damage from all the recent earthquakes, there is none. If you're just speaking of road conditions in general, I'm not aware of any online sites to look at. The local news channels here usually have traffic reports but those are only to show up to the minute conditions due to traffic or construction, similar to traffic reports on the news back in the US. In general, you shouldn't have any problems. The A4 that runs between Verona and Venice moves pretty good even when the traffic is heavy as there are 3 lanes and the Italians actually do a better job of not clogging up the fast lane than the Germans do. Only caution on this route is to be careful when you get between Padova and Venice as they built a new bypass a few years back and if you're not careful you could find yourself on that. Just make sure you follow the signs towards Venezia. The drive between Bologna and Firenze is on the A1 which is one of the busiest autostradas in Italy. I'd say the worst thing you might experience is construction.
