Verona Qs - Wine Tours, Lake Garda

My fiancé and I will be in Verona in early September for a couple nights on our way to Venice. We'll spend one day exploring town, but were thinking about doing a wine tour or a day trip to Lake Garda on the other day. So a few questions... 1)Any reputable companies for wine tours? We will not have a car, so prefer transportation be included. 2)Is Lake Garda worth incorporating? Is it accessible by bus? 3)Is there something you suggest we do instead?
Thank you for your thoughts!!

Can't answer your specific questions but we were in Verona a couple of weeks ago....awesome! Piazza's Bra, Erbe and Signori were beautiful. I was a bit disappointed with the insides of the arena and theatre but still great. I'd suggest the RS recommended Pizzeria Du de Cope. Food was delicious and reasonable. Also Gelateria Ponte Pietra...it was like biting into a fresh peach.

Never done a wine tour, but Lago di Garda ( Lake Garda) is well worth seeing. The area is breathtaking. On a one day trip (without a car) I would recommend Sirmione. Located in a small peninsula on the west side of the Lake, Sirmione is a can't miss town, very touristy and in September it shouldn't be crowdy. It is deffinitely accessible by bus from Verona. Very popular area, because close by is Gardaland, a very good imitation of a Disney Park. For more info check out : www.lagodigarda.it Have a great time !

I don't know anything about wine tours or Lake Garda, but wanted to suggest that you consider getting a Verona Pass for the day you have there. Verona has many sites to see that are included on the pass, as well as public transportation. The pass more than paid for itself, and we saw things we may have skipped if we had to fork out extra money for it. I loved Verona!!
