I'm staying in Venice and would like to take a day trip to both Verona & Padova in the same day. Is this possible? What are the must see sites? Thanks.
People here have said it is doable in one day - as does Rick in his Venice guide (he has little chapters for both cities with helpful info in each). I started a topic about day trips from Venice here somewhere and people talked about which they preferred and I remember at least one person said he/she did both cities in one day, but I couldn't find it. anyway, my plan in august is to try doing both in one day - I want to start in Verona and if I really fall in love with it, I'm going to play it by ear and skip Padova if I don't think I can do it justice in the afternoon.
I opted for Padua and was pleased. But if it means a shorter stay in Venice I would stay in Venice longer. The sights are minor in comparison. I skipped Verona as I would rather really see on city really well than spend lots of time in traveling from place to place.
