We will be in Venice from Dec 29 until Jan 3. I know most things in Venice will be closed on Jan 1. I also know that the Scrovegni Chapel in Padua will be closed on Jan 1. Does anyone know about Verona? I like the thought of a day trip from Venice, and I would love to see some of the Roman ruins in Verona, but I wonder if anything in Verona will be open on Jan 1. Looking at a train schedule, we would probably be in Verona from 11:00 to 19:00, then back to Venice.
Any help or advice would be much appreciated!
