Jo, I enjoyed Arte Nel Centro B & B in Verona, which is on a commercial avenue midway between the train station and downtown (Piazza Bra), an easy few minutes walk to either one. Very convenient for day trips by train or bus. A few lovely and spacious rooms, each with a nice private bathroom, and a terrific breakfast. Check it out on booking.com, where it is rated very, very high (9.5). In the most off-season, it would just be within your price range. Busier season, probably not.

Liked this place very much B&B Panorama. Price is dependent on season, as is often the case.
