Verona & Lake Garda tours from Milan

Planning to go to Verona & Lake Garda on my own using train or bus in one day. Is this doable. Looking for suggestions on how to accomplish this. Most tour companies doesn't provide this tour on a Monday.
Staying in Milan and the closest train station is Milano Centrale.

We just returned from Italy and Verona was part of our trip. Yes, you can take a one day trip from Milan to Verona by train, but it would be a long day. The train is about a 1 1/2 hour journey, the bus to the center of the action in Verona, Piazza Bra is located directly across from the train station. I suppose if you took the earliest train in the morning you could make it a day trip, but it is worth staying over at least one night if you can. We did a day trip to Lake Garda by bus from Verona, that was a bit over an hour by bus, and worth the trip, just beautiful.

bgolalia,
Yes, you can take this day trip from Milan but I’d advice you to take the Frecciarossa (high speed) train, over the Regionale train, which will get you to Verona in about 75 minutes vs almost 2 hours.
After visiting Verona for a few hours, you can take the Regionale train from Verona to Peschiera del Garda (13 minute journey) then a ferry to any of the various lakeside villages in the South of the lake such as Garda, Bardolino, and Lazise.

It will be a very long day trip, and as previously mentioned, if you have time it’s well worth it to spend at least an overnight in Verona.
My mom and I stayed in Verona and visited Lake Garda as a day trip from there.

You can check train schedules on

trenitalia.com. You’ll need to choose the following train stations:

  • Verona Porta Nuova
  • Peschiera del Garda

Have a wonderful trip!
