I'm looking for a moderate hotel in Verona for 3 nights at the end of September. I've looked at Armando, Hotel Europa, Hotel Aurora, etc and I'm uncertain. Preference is central location. Would really appreciate fellow traveler suggestions.
Thank you.
I've stayed at Hotel Europa and was very pleased with the location and the service. It's very close to Piazza Bra and the Roman Amphitheatre, and some nice restaurants in the area.
Never stood at the three hotels you mention. We used to stay in this B&B in June right in the city centre http://www.booking.com/hotel/it/b-amp-b-casa-coloniale.en-us.html?aid=1139024;sid=8f2e7dcb604e9e5ee8a7292509375279;dcid=1;dest_id=-132092;dest_type=city;dist=0;room1=A%2CA;sb_price_type=total;srfid=693593f0657f6b4afcb95c6b2ad36ecc26c5cc31X1;type=total;ucfs=1& behind Piazza delle Erbe (check-in is at a café beside or via phone, parking can be found close to Piazza San Tomaso).
I was very satisfied with Hotel Trieste during a brief stay for the opera in 2012 - central location on Corso Porta Nuova, between the station and Piazza Bra. Reasonable rates.
Hotel Torcolo is another option to consider!
Hotel Torcolo is about as central a location as one could want. While it is possible to walk there from the train station, with luggage a taxi is much better and not that expensive. Google them to get their email address and contact them directly about their rates. Verona is small enough that you can walk everywhere. The old Roman Theater is really neat as is people watching at Piazza Erbe.
Thank you everyone for the suggestions. Hotel Europa it is. Some of the other suggestions are already booked for my dates.
