Verona hop-on, hop-off bus

Not to be too much of a wimp, but I'm likely to be a little tired by the time I get to Verona. I'm staying right off the Plz Bra, but some of the churches I want to visit are scattered widely in different directions. I'm wondering if anyone has used these hop on/off buses in Verona, and whether they get you close to the sites. I read something about many tourist sites being in pedestrian zones and these buses being of little use. I know you can "walk everywhere" in Verona, but I may be a little short on energy by that time. Your thoughts?

Sherry, I haven't used the hop on / hop off Buses in Verona, but I have used them in other locations. You'll have to check their website to determine whether their routes will cover the places you want to see: www.city-sightseeing.com/tours/italy/verona.htm The pickup location appeasr to be Piazza Bra, so that should fit your situation. Walking the routes covered by the Buses will not be practical, especially if you're tired. I'd suggest taking your own headphones, as they sound quality in the ones they provide isn't that good. Happy travels!

Hi Sherry, I just got back from Verona. I think that would be a great idea for you. I took both the tours last year (there's a red one and a blue one) and it's a great and easy way to get around the city, especially when you're a bit tired. The centre of the city is closed to all but pedestrian traffic, but it's a small area and the buses manage to get close to the sites as well as stopping in places with great views. If you're staying in that area, there's a lovely outdoor café, Caffe al Teatro just outside hotel Europa. The guys who work there are lovely!
have a great trip!
