Verona attractions

Hello,
1- I was told that attractions are closed on Mondays in Verona..is that true?
2- I am trying to book a wedding anniversary dinner at a cozy authentic restaurant that serves it a bit earlier than 7 in order to be able to catch a train. any suggestions?

Thank you,
Roula

Hello Roula,

The Museo Archeologico al Teatro Romano appears to be closed on Mondays. The Arena opens later on Mondays but is still open - pending opera and other events that might be taking place. The church in San Zeno is open.

These are the sites I would care about but I guess it depends on what you wanted to see in Verona and you'll have to check on those. I consider the old city itself to be one big attraction to wander through and so that never closes.

I'm sorry I don't have a specific restaurant suggestion that would be open early.

Verona is great, enjoy it,

I think you’ll find that a lot of things are closed on Monday, so you will need to check each place you’re interested in. I enjoy just wandering around. Last time I was there on a Monday I did a day trip from Verona to Mantua/Mantova. Just about everything was closed. There was a boat ride we were interested in, but there was a swarm of what seemed like a middle school kids planning to do the same. We changed our minds.

The Giusti Gardens and apartment seem to be open daily: https://giardinogiusti.com/opening/?lan=en

It looks like the arena is, too: https://verona.com/en/verona/Arena-di-Verona/

Our favourite restaurant in Verona, La Griglia, was recommended by our desk clerk. We went for lunch and loved it so much we made a reservation to go back for dinner. It looks like it's open from 12 - 3 pm and then from 6:30 to midnight.

I was in verona in march and my favorite sight was the Castel Vecchio Bridge. You don’t have to enter the museum to see it.

All the restaurants along the Piazza Bra were open from lunch to dinner time. Geared towards tourists, sure, but they still had good food with a nice view of the arena. We don’t like to eat late, so these restaurants were a good option for us.
