Looking to find a vineyard not too far from Verona with a nice restaurant for a special celebration with some local Barolo wines. Can find lots of vineyards with tastings and light bites but none with good vineyard restaurants. Any help appreciated. Thankyou.
The names Barolo and Verona don't add up. Valpolicella is the wonderful wine of the Verona area, and experiencing the ancient Roman method called Ripasso used by some winegrowers doubles the fun. The region of Valpolicella is north of Verona and is stunningly beautiful with gentle hills covered with vines. The restaurant Antica Osteria Paverna in the comune of Valgatara in the Valpolicella area has a strong wine orientation: https://anticaosteriapaverno.com/
Thankyou so much! Of course I got Amarone & Barolo mixed up. Indeed that’s why we need to improve our Italian wine knowledge. The restaurant looks perfect for us.
Hope it works out. Knowing Italian wines is almost a difficult as knowing Italian politicians as there are new DOCs emerging every year.
