You want to pay US$750-$1000 for one month's rental of an apartment in a good location in Verona? A more realistic figure would be at least US$2000. And if you're talking about this coming October for the entire month, you may have missed out on a lot of options by waiting this late. Good luck.

I'm just back from Verona after 3 weeks in a beautiful apartment right in the centre of old Verona. I don't know the rate for October but you can ask the owner, Carlo. He lives there and speaks English.

http://www.anticaverona.altervista.org/ We rented Apt 1. It's in an Italian Palazzo which was built in 1599. If you go there, ask Carlo for a tour of the whole building, you'll be amazed!
