VERNAZZAA Accommodations

Hello! I am trying to plan our accommodations for when we travel to Cinque Terre. We want to stay in Vernazza and am using Rick's Italy 2011 book to do so. After checking a lot of these places on Trip Advisor as well, there seem to be a lot of negative reviews then positive. Has anyone gone to Vernazza recently and recommend somewhere easy, and safe while reasonably priced? Rick has so many recommendations, I just don't know where to start!
Any information is much appreciated! Thanks!

Make it 3 votes for Maria (& Giacomo)! We stayed in the cozy studio in October. Maria & Giacomo provided a warm reception and were most helpful throughout our visit. One note of caution: The cozy studio is a 57 step climb. We did it (57 and 66 years old) four times each day while there, but I have to tell you, you don't justrun back to your room on a whim! 90 euros in October. A very good price for an apartment!

Here's #4 for Maria & Giacomo. They are so sweet. I tried to get the Charming Room 9 months before our trip to no avail. We were offered the Cozy Studio, and it was just fine. We paid 85 euros in 9/10. If you exchange emails with Maria, just an FYI you are really communicating with Giacomo. Maria doesn't really speak English. Doesn't matter though, because we were able to have a very nice "conversation" with her, even though we didn't speak the same language!

Another option is Enoteca Sciacchetra, it's a husband and wife team who own a little shop selling vino and local products and they rent out rooms. I think their names are Francesco and Francesca, very nice, both speak some English. We've stayed with them on multiple occasions and always been happy. I think we usually pay about 65 euro for a double room with shower although last spring we had another couple with us and they had a small 2 bedroom apartment with kitchenette and it cost 130 euros for a night.

Hi Erin, We are travelling to the Cinque Terre the week of Easter. Our first choice was Vernazza, but we found many of the rooms were already booked out. I shifted my search to Manarola and found much more availability. Hopefully you find the right place in Vernazza, but if not, Manarola could be a fall back. Cheers!

Erin, My adult daughter and I rented a 2 bedroom aptat 22 Via Gavino from Manuela Moggia. It was darling and quiet. Another great feature was that it was just steps away from Il Pirata restaurant and Patisserie. See Tripadvisor.com for more on this. The apt was at the top of the town. 2 min from the train station, 4 minutes down to the harbor. The email address is www.manuela-vernazza.com.
We were able to walk all of the trails and stop in all of the towns. The apt consists of 2 bedrooms, a small kitchen and a small bath. Hope this helps.
