Hi there. In late August I'll be in Vernazza for two evenings and then moving on to Siena. I'm travelling with 4 other adults, 2 are seniors (71 & 73 in good health) and we'll only have carry on luggage. We do have a car pick up in La Spezia and I'm wondering if we should change the car pick up to Siena and take the train in or pick up the car in La Spezia and drive ourselves to Siena. What would be the easiest for our group? We are staying in villa just outside of Siena. Thanks! And any restaurant recommendations for Vernazza are welcomed!

Having done that trip several years ago and knowing you need a car anyway, I would rent in La Spezia. Otherwise, it is from my experience, three trains (2 changes), all small, regional, and, again in my experience, very crowded. We stood up most of the time in our 4 segments from Vernazza to Siena.
