I would like to go from Vernazza to Milan Centrale by train. I was given the following options on the Trenitalia site. 1- Monterosso to Milan Centrale direct 3.4 hours. Or 2- Vernazza to Levanto then Levanto to Milan Centrale. For option #1 is this Monterosso the Monterosso in Cinque Terra or the Monterosso near Venice. Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
You have the correct Monterosso. I don't know of another Monterosso, but regardless the one in Cinque Terrre has the station named Monterosso. You can tell when you click on the results and it shows the stops. You have to get to Monterosso anyway so just choose the best time with the fewest changes. The intercity faster train leaves from Monterosso, that's why you have to change from Vernazza.
There is a Monterosso in Liguria simply known as Monterosso and a Monterosso Marche in the Marche Region known as... Monterosso Marche.
I have Never heard of a train station called Monterosso near Venice; even if such stop existed, Trenitalia would add the name of the Veneto Region. Vernazza is 250 miles away from Venice, it would be quite a detour,
Thank you!
there is a tiny settlement southwest of Padova called Monterosso - near Ababo Terme, about 3 km. No train station there or anywhere near until you get to Padova.
just FYI
