I will be travelling to Cinque Terre next month and would love to find a place to stay with a great balcony overlooking the ocean...& if possible close enough to hear the waves (rather than the town square)! Does anyone have suggestions/experiences of where to stay (& equally as important, where you wouldn't stay)?

We loved this place, the views were incredible. However, I am not sure if any of the rooms have a private balcony; we used the terrace outside of our window that all the rooms (4 in total, I think) have access to.

I haven't stayed here but it has excellent reviews on this site and Tripadvisor. I can't imagine a more spectacular choice.

We stayed at La Spiaggia in Monterrosso - right on the beach in the new part of town. Great views, A/C if you want it; fabulous breakfast and private label wine. I would highly recommend it.
