Yeah I am willing to stay in a dorm, I forgot to mention that I will be with my girlfriend so we will be splitting pay. So I should say, anywhere in Vernazza to stay for under $100? Thanks

Colin,
Check www.varennaflats-marilena.com. We will be staying for only 2 nights but Marilena who owns and rents the houses and flats weekly was nice enough to set us up with a private room and bath at her Aunts. Marilena even sent us a pic. of the room. Only 50 euro

We stayed at one of Elisabetta Carro's rooms with an amazing view and very comfortable bed 2 years ago. Her email is [email protected]. If you google her name you can find her website with photos of the rooms. I think we paid 80 euros.

Hi Colin,

We stayed in Ivo Camere (Ivo's Rooms) last May and thought it was a lovely budget option. I can't figure out why it doesn't make the Rick Steves listings.

70 euros per night during high season.

The rooms are up many stairs in a building t on the main drag, facing Ivo's pizza place (also good). Reserve by email, pick up the key from Ivo behind the counter, pay in cash, and drop off the key when you leave. Our room was small, but the bed was comfy and bathroom was super clean. No street noise. The website photos are pretty true-to-life. What you see is what you get.

I actually think you'll have a fair number of options with a $100 price tag. You won't get a room overlooking the water, but you should be able to find some rooms. If you're looking to save more money, there's a clean, functional youth hostel in Manarola that I'd recommend as well.

Hope you love the Cinque Terre as much as I do!!!

What time of year are you going? If you go from mid October to mid April, you can get off the train and be offered something for under $100/night. We went to Vernazza in late October and found a two-bedroom apartment for 140 Euros per night for our family of five. At the station we were offered an apartment for less than 100 Euro. We looked at it but it wasn't big enough for our whole family so we passed.

If you are traveling high season, there is one hostel in the area that will be reasonably cheap or you can take a little risk and see if someone has something when you arrive.
