I expect the entire Cinque Terre to be overrun with mobs of people this September (including by me, I suppose)...but is Riomaggiore any better than Vernazza? Is there much of a difference between the two villages? Thanks!

I stayed in Riomaggiore In September 2005. Compared to Vernazza, I found it to be much more peaceful. There was definitely more tourist activity in Vernazza. If you are looking for a great hotel I highly recommend the Cinque Terre Residence
