If Vernazza doesn't work out, I highly recommend Manuel's Guesthouse in Monterosso. Beautiful view - clean, newly renovated rooms with balcony - charming hosts Lorenzo and his father Giovanni. We especially loved sitting on their terrace for breakfast & Happy Hour. They serve beer & wine at a very reasonable price and snacks until you tell them "Please, no more!" There is a climb up many steps to get there ((Hey, it is Cinque Terre!) but Lorenzo literally runs down and takes your suitcase up for you. It was so worth the extra steps.
