Vernazza Hotels on/near the Square

Looking for recommendations. Hotel, B & B, etc... Prefer not to climb too many of the stairs as I did many years ago on a trip there. And what is the up to date parking outside of town? I remember parking and walking to the square. Parking safe & secure for my rental car? Of course I will not leave any valuables in car. Thank you

I would not drive to the Cinque Terre, period. It's much easier to ride the train.

That said, there are not really any hotels in Vernazza. ur first sty there we had 65 stair steps to our room. With luggage it was brutal! Vernazza is, in my experience, the village most likely to require climbing a lot of stairs to get to your room. Manarola has more rooms with fewer stairs, and Monterosso actually has more hotels in the truest sense of the word, some with elevators. Might do well to try there, first.

We stayed in Vernazza before the flood... Stayed at the top of the town, but in Tonino Basso's apartment -like rooms in a building that had an elevator. At that time they had a computer in each room for you to use. The walk down into the town is easy.. At that time people who drove parked close by up at the top. I do not know exactly where they park now. Also a great restaurant is right beside Tonino's apartment rooms. Il Pirata is a wonderful place for breakfast and reserve for dinner.. Exceptional food and the two brothers that own it are wonderful.

I don't think there is parking available anymore. If I remember correctly visitors can park in the lot only for up to 1 or 2 hours (with a disco orario), basically just enough to download luggage and drop it at your accommodation. Otherwise only residents with permit are allowed to park long term. If you absolutely must have a rental car with you, you should look for accommodations in Monterosso, where some hotels have parking and there is a parking lot on the beach. Otherwise you could park at the Là Spezia station multistory parking structure or at the Monterosso parking lot, and proceed to Vernazza by train.
