I have a question regarding the Hotel Gianni Franzi and the Trattoria Gianni Franzi. Arethese two hotels owned by the same person or are they totally separate hotels? My wife and I are planning to visit the Cinque Terre for 4 days in August and are not sure if we are communicating with the same owners or two separate establishments.

Tom, A Trattoria is type of restaurant, so I'm not sure why it would be marketed as a Hotel. I'm not familiar with Gianni Franzi, but I believe both establishments are owned by the same individual. Cheers!

I believe they are the same ownership, Ken is correct, one is Rest., you pick up your room keys from within Rest. And then take stairs (many) to your room. We've stayed there twice, loved it, but you need to be in good shape for all the stairs. Look for their little isolated alcove, wonderful spot to sit at after dark and sip your wine and hear the crashing of the waves. Also a wonderful Restuarant at top of cliff, forgot name, need to refresh what Rick has to say about it since the floods. BTW, has anyone of our members stayed there since the flood.... Vernazza and/or Hotel Gianna Franzi??
