I am going to Cinque Terre in April. I am thinking about staying in Vernazza. Please pass along any recommendations of places to stay (it doesn't have to a fancy place) I was also thinking about getting a room with a small kitchen so that we could cook a little in the room. If anyone has done this, please pass along your recommendations. Thanks!!!
We rented a little apartment for our family of five. My suggestion is check in at any of Rick's recommended hotels, tell them what you want and let them show you what they have.
Alternatively, show up without a reservation and talk to the people offering rooms at the train station. We looked at one you would have loved that we were offered at the station for an incredibly good price but it wasn't big enough for five so we headed down the hill and rented an apartment by asking at a hotel.
We were there in October and had no trouble. April should be the same.
give maria capellini rooms a try. we stayed in the cozy studio with a very small kitchen. good luck:):)
We stayed at the Trattoria Gianni Franzi.
Simple rooms that were a little echoey (in the old building, the new one is apparently posher), and it was a truck up the stairs to get to it, but the view we had of the sea was awesome. It was pretty cheap to, considering other options in the area.
