Vernazza Cinque Terre lodging

In September my wife and I are going to Italy for the first time. We will be there for 3 weeks-- part of it on a Rick Steves tour and then some time on our own. We plan to spend 3 nights in Vernazza and would love to find a clean relativey quiet room with a double bed with bath BUT most of all with some kind of nice private little terrace or outside seating area wherre we can drink wine and and soak up the atmosphere. The Rick Steves Italy book has some suggestions but we wonder if anyone has a special recommendation.

My fiance (we got engaged in Venice) just returned from a 3 week trip to Italy as well. If you don't mind a lot of stairs, we would highly recommend Monica Lecari's Honeymoon Paradise Suite. It is actually a 2 bedroom apartment located up by the Doria Castle. We had a private deck with stunning views of the harbor and sea. It was heavenly. We stayed here half way through our trip and it was truly a vacation from our vacation. Monica brought our breakfast to us both mornings and we had a fabulous lunch in her Restaurant, Al Castello.
Lucky you staying for 3 nights. We only stayed 2 and it wasn't long enough. Her email address is alcastellovernazza@yahoo.it Ciao-

We stayed in the studio appartment run by the Il Pirata brothers. It was lovely. Spacious for Vernazza. The terrace was great. Nice size with some view ... not completely unobstructed but a nice view. A small fridge and sink area. Reasonable amount of steps. And breakfast is included. There was a bottle of wine waiting for us when we checked in. http://www.ilpiratarooms.com/eng_camera_1.html

Two weeks ago, we stayed at Trattoria Gianni, recommended in the RS guide. Although it did not include breakfast, the room was excellent and we had a fine view. It is up a LOT of steps but there is a very very nice shared terrace where we spent several lovely evenings.
