Heading to the Cinque Terre in a couple of weeks and would welcome suggestions for places to stay in Vernazza. Thanks
If you don't have a reservation already, it may be tough, it will definitely be a hunt. We made resrvations for a week in October 2 months ago and we are in Manarola looking forward to staying here.
http://www.elisabettacarro.it/ best view in town!
On our last visit to the C.T. in July 2009 we stayed 4 nights at Francamaria rooms. www.francamaria.com We had rooms 1 and 3. Room 1 has a harbor view which we loved and is just a few steps off the square. Room 3 was just a short walk down from room 1 and had a few more steps but not bad. Rooms were very nice and would stay here again. On another visit in July 2006 we stayed 3 nights in an apartment that we rented through Pizzeria Vulnetia, located on the square. In June 2002 we daytripped in but I recommend staying for awhile as evenings in Vernazza are lovely. I think both of these are still in the R.S. book. Have a great trip!
Rick, You might find it helpful to check the Save Vernazza website, as they had a listing there showing all the lodgings that were open this year. I don't have the web link on this computer, but I'm sure you can find it with a Google search. As I recall, the link is in the "Uppdates" section. As someone else mentioned, it may be a bit "challenging" to get a booking now. If you can't find anything in Vernazza, you might also consider staying in Monterosso. It's a much larger town so has a much greater number of Hotels and other lodgings. I'm actually sitting in a Hotel there at this moment (it's a bit overcast today, so catching up on computer work). Good luck and happy travels!
Thanks everyone for your replies. Ken is there a place in Monterosso you like?
Thanks
Francamaria rooms, room #1. Nice, clean, comfortable, and good price. Great view, and close to the harbor. The only downside to harborside rooms, is the noise on Sat morning, or maybe it is sun morning. Anyway, the night after a party, the cleanup crew starts early, and there is no way to be quite picking up glass bottles! We have been there several times, and we always stay in Room #1. Ciao!
