What is happening with Vernazza? Is anything open there? Does the train stop there? We will be in the Cinque Terre area the middle of June and would love to spend some time there. Is the hiking trail open through Vernazza?
She is open for business: http://www.elisabettacarro.it/ Great views!
Joyce, YES, Vernazza is absolutely open for business, YES the train stops there, and the residents there are anxious to welcome visitors back this season. Not all of the businesses have re-opened yet, but many are open. You can check the current list by checking Vernazza from time-to-time. At the moment, the Vernazza-Monterosso and Riomaggiore-Manarola trails are currently open, but others may open by June. If you decide to hike the Vernazza-Monterosso trail, I'd suggest starting at the Monterosso end. Be sure to take lots of water! Rick is in the Cinque Terre now, and I'm sure we'll be seeing an uppdate very soon. Happy travels!
Definitely open, and you should definitely go! I agree with Ken, start your hike in Monterosso, then head out from there. Even if you're staying in another town, hop the train to M and hike back, then train it back to your town. It's a great day.
I'm here for an extended stay and yes, the train is running and all the trails but a few are open, and CT would love you to come visit! I have been here before, and NOT having all the coastal trails open led me to explore the other fantastic hikes on this trip. Vernazza's harbor area, Monterosso is almost completely open, all the stores, the hotels, etc.
