Vernazza

We will be travelling to Vernazza on May 5 - 10. Having trouble finding accommodation. Have looked on booking.com and searched some of Rick Steves' recommendations but many are already booked. As we are hoping to stay for 5 nights we don't want to pay more then $300 canadian per night.
Also, looking for accommodation in Milan and Florence.

Thank you!

What about this one? (from booking.com)

That was just at a quick glance. Haven't stayed there but it has positive ratings, location, and fits your price range. The one-bedroom unit appears to be one large ROOM with some comforts like mini fridge , coffee maker, etc, and may not have a terrace (ASK!) but looks very nice. Don't limit yourself to RS recommendations! Many of us have happily stayed in all sorts of hotels, B&Bs and apartments which aren't in the book (and I don't even own the book) 'cause there are too many acceptable places to stay to be able to list.

You might also try some of the other villages? We stayed in Monterosso and were just fine there.

Five days seems like a long time to stay in the Cinque Terre.

I'm seeing quite a few places on booking.com for those dates. As well, if you are willing to consider Corniglia or Manarola you will get a bit more bang for your buck.
What type of accomodation are you looking for? There are not many actual hotels, you will be looking at rooms, or apartments for the most part in Vernazza.

Gayle,

If you can't find anything in Vernazza, you might consider one of the other towns. Monterosso is a good choice as it's a larger town and therefore has a greater number of accommodations. Manarola also seems to be popular with some of the group on the forum.

We stayed in Levanto the last time we were in that area and it was perfect. We stayed at the Hotel Carla and I highly recommend it. It was very close to the train station which gave us easy access to the five villages and beyond. We did a day trip to Pisa while we were there too. The hotel was around $165 (American) per night.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. I have booked a place in Vernazza.

Looking to book 2 nights in Milan. Which area is the most desirable?
