It would help if you could provide a bit more information on what type of place you prefer, price range, etc.? You might check your local library for a copy of the RS Italy guidebook, as that has good suggestions for reliable lodgings.

Are you set on staying in Vernazza, or would you consider one of the other towns?

But look outside of the book as well? We've chosen all our hotels without an RS guide and been perfectly happy with them. There are many good hotels, apartments and B&Bs that don't make the book. :O)

We stayed at an air b n b this past July and it was all you could ask for. I would check this out , before an hotel.

I enjoyed https://www.giannifranzi.it/. Quite a few steps to get to it, but you are rewarded with rooms built right into the rocks, with patios facing over the sea.

per their website 100 stairs ( i.e. a 7 story building)... guess it supports the bar and restaurant with thirsty hungry clients when they (finally) get there!
