Verizon phone number for International Travel Plan

Hi, I know I've seen the number to call for the plan here. I'm hoping someone can provide it for me. I can do it online, but having someone explain the options would be helpful.
Thanks!

Verizon Global Customer Service: 1-800-711-8300. Starting 5 May (I think) one can have plans for a period of a month -- from one date to the next -- and not have a two billing cycle overlap. At least that what we were told.

Great. Thanks so much for your help! Last year we both got sim cards, but had some issues with connecting back home. This time, we'll get a Verizon plan for a phone, and get a sim card for my iPad which I'll use as a GPS for the days we have a car.

Check into Verizon's "TravelPass" program. You only are charged a per day fee (24hrs) when used. Works off your existing calling plan.

Va from Va:

Check the fine print. Depending on where you are going, it could be as much as $10 per day per line for very little data usage. There are a lot of smoke and mirrors in their pricing structure. Be sure you know what you are getting and the cost.

We always use Verizon's $40 international calling plan that comes with 100MB of data. It works perfectly and we don't have to worry about roaming charges or finding free wi-fi somewhere. Very easy and convenient.

Thanks for your replies. We went with the $40 plans for both phones, and I'll still get a SIM card for the iPad. We will be there 22 days, so I thought the Travel Pass would add up to a lot more.

We leave tomorrow!

Hi,
How do you get a SIM card for the Ipad? Maybe I don't have an Ipad that uses a SIM card? Thanks!

You need to have an iPad that is data-enabled. I believe you either buy it that way,or not. Anyway, mine is, and I went to a Vodaphone store. I got a SIM card with 2G of data for $20 and they installed it. The GPS worked great for the 5 days of driving, from Verona, through the Dolomites and down to Venice.
