Venicelink private taxi vs Viator?

I was looking into booking a water taxi from Marco Polo to near our hotel (Hotel Al Codego) Venicelink has a private water taxi with a round trip fare of $180.00. Viator is $245.00 for a one way trip. Am I missing something?

Thanks,
Sharon

The general price is about 110 EUR during regular hours and no more than 4 people in the boat, with a a small adder for each additional passenger up to 8 or 9 riding. Viator seems like it would be a round trip price. I would check carefully if the Venicelink price was for a shared taxi.

Do you think Viator owns/runs a Venice Water Taxi company??? Of course not. They take your $$ and then book your transfer with Venicelink or some other water taxi service and pocket the difference - a difference you know to be at least $245-$180.

I've booked with VeniceLink a few years ago, paid in full for 3 boats for my student group, waited at my hotel they didn't call or email and wouldn't answer their own 24 hour phone when I attempted to call. I personally walked to the waterfront designated loading area and waited for them - they never showed. Our hotel, Pensione Guerrato, personally went with us and put us on the correct Vaporetto with the correct tickets.

VeniceLink wouldn't reply to me even after we returned...until I contested the charge with my credit card and then I got INSTANT communction from VL. Bunch of liars. Claimed they called our hotel and knocked on the door looking for us. Pensione Guerrato said they were crooks. I have a lot to dislike with VeniceLink.

However, I have booked many times with https://www.motoscafivenezia.it/en/ and they've not let us down so far. Good luck with your ventures.

Any water taxi from the rank should be about €120 for a boatload and luggage.

I don't know the exchange $/€ but 180 of pretty much anything is a bit of a discount presuming you want a water taxi both ways - and I have never heard of Venicelink (a name made of English language words).

Viator is having a joke.

for arrivals at Tronchetto Car Park: call the phone number +39 041 5210632 ext.01

Further verbiage:

Limitations: is NOT possible to reach more destinations at once, only one place for all the passengers. Our water taxi service doesn't reach directly the private pier of these Hotels in Venice (5 minutes walk from the stop): Duodo, Splendid, Cavalletto, Saturnia, Becher, Bonvecchiati, Bonvecchiati Palace, Corte Grimani. The only stop available for Lido island is Santa Maria Elisabetta. We don't reach any private pier for hotels located on Lido island.
Water taxi will directly reach your hotel if a private water access is available. But, you will be dropped off only at the nearest dock in the following cases:
- hotel without private water access;
- hotel faced to inner and narrow canals of difficult access;
- hotel faced to canals where access is forbidden;
- extreme water level due to high tide, also in case of hotel generally reachable
