Hey all
What's the difference between the Secret Itineraries tour and the standard tour? Which would you recommend with tweens?
Thanks!

The secret itineraries tour goes to several places not open with the general tour, has a limited number of guests, and is guided. It also allows you to continue on the standard tour afterwards.I think it would definitely interest the children. You can find a description of the tour itinerary online. https://palazzoducale.visitmuve.it/en/the-museum/layout-and-collections/secret-itineraries/
Awesome. Thanks!
Thanks so much for the link, CJean. I noticed from the link that there are now two special Doge tours. The Secret Itineraries and another, Hidden Doge's Treasury. They both are the same price.
The Secret Itineraries seems to focus more on prisoners, cells and a torture room, which although everyone seems to like this tour, it didn't seem all that appealing to me.
Would be interested in knowing if anyone has done the Hidden Doge tour. Both tours are 1 hour and 15 minutes and I believe after the guided tour, visitors are allowed to visit public areas on their own.
EDITED TO ADD: while the Doge website characterizes the Hidden Doge tour as new, I'm seeing forum questions about this tour from nine years ago.
Yeah, there wasn't a lot of AC built in the 15th century. Lol : )
The Secret Itineraries tour mixes parts of the prison cells not accessible on the public tour, some more sedate offices of state and the under the roof tops cells and torture chamber of the prison. These cells held their most famous occupant Casanova.
I haven't been on the Hidden Treasure tour but as I understand it it focuses on the Doge's private chambers and passages.
Which one of these would appeal more to your tweens is up to you. The standard guess is the more prison aspects but you never know.
Venice is amazing. Have a great trip,
