Hi we are looking for a place to stay for three nights in Venice for me, my wife, and our two sons, ages 7 & 9, in early June. Any suggestions on a nice neighborhood and hotel or apartment to try? We want to make sure the place has air conditioning and no pets (some of us are allergic to pet dander). Thanks!

I rented Home Away 494027 the last time I was in Venice and was very happy with it. The cost is extremely good for Venice and the owner is very responsive. He will rent for three nights and has limited availability for June. You might want to check if his dates of availability will work for you.
The area (Dorsoduro) is great!

I believe Hotel Ala has 'family quarters' available. Can't beat the location: it's right inbetween San Marco and the Accademia Bridge and literally 50 meters walk from the Giglio vaporetto stop. GREAT buffet breakfast!

Pensione Guerrato is always a favorite. It has quad rooms as well as a private apartment. It's located right at the fish market at the Rialto Bridge.

We stayed in this apartment while in Venice last fall https://www.tripadvisor.com/VacationRentalReview-g187870-d7249936-Rio_Marin-Venice_Veneto.html. We just LOVED it!
It's only a short walk from the train station and it overlooks a very quiet canal. It's well appointed, quiet and has insect screens on all windows (something pretty rare in Europe). It's also above a grocery store and has several good restaurants close by.
