Hi - is there an official water taxi at the train station in Venice - I have looked at two that i found online but the reviews on reliability are not great - is there a company you would recommend. Thank you!
This is the official water taxi

Thank you. On Google reviews — this group has have a few unreliable examples. In this the recommended option
Also can you advise if I want to extend the water taxi ride to do a canal tour before dropping us off at hotel. The website says that is available but there is no cost. My hotel requires a 20 euro incremental charge as it is not on main route. What will I need to spend for extra canal tour? Thank you for your help
They operate 100 boats/24 hours a day so a few bad reviews doesn't mean much- if you look hard enough you can always find bad reviews.
We have used several times with no complaints as have many other members of the forum.
Anyway- I have no idea what the cost would be
Have you contacted them and explained your needs?
hey hey KeeksCanada
agree with ChristineH with website. we have used them several times from airport to hotel and hotel to airport or train station, reserved ahead of time.
coming out of train station and walk straight to grand canal and there are many water taxis there to chose from. go up to anyone of them and ask questions, if they will take you on a canal ride before going to hotel (where is your hotel at), how much they will charge you and where do you want to go & see, ask about cash euros or credit card.
there will always be some bad reviews like other things for whatever reason. we never had any issues and have enjoyed the rides. they help put luggage in and out, you too, drop you off as close to hotel as possible. fill out the contact form to get some answers.
it's your decision what you decide on, have a great ride and good luck.
aloha
Thank you all
