We will be arriving at the Venice airport at 9:00 am and taking a water taxi to our hotel. How much time should I allow to get through customs and get too the pickup point. We won't be checking luggage.

If you are coming from the USA, probably allow about one hour. Say 3/4 hr for immigration, and fifteen minutes from air terminal to water terminal.

When you reserve, they might ask you for your flight number. That way, they can keep track of you.
We have used the shared water taxi several times. Worked well for us, and saves quite a few euro.

you'll love the water taxi! we did it with friends that have never been to europe. They were so thrilled. make sure when you walk out of airport walk to escalator that takes you straight to "taxis". to us it was worth every euro and a fabulous way to get to venice. happy travels

I loved the taxi from the airport to the city. Great ride.
If you have landed in Europe prior to arriving in Venice (Amsterdam, Munich, Frankfurt, etc) you likely will have cleared immigration and customs already.
