Venice water taxi

On the 'get your guide' website they offer a water taxi from the airport to your hotel (or nearest drop-off) for about 38 USD per person. That seems reasonable for the experience vs the vaporetto. how reliable would this be for advance purchase? I've seen comments o the motoscafivenesia website that says water taxis are not available my week - probably due to the Biennale.

The Get Your Guide service you mention is a company offering a shared water taxi at that price - the notes say you may have to sit in the boat for up to 40 minutes, waiting for other passengers. This is the actual company: https://www.bucintoroviaggi.com/index.html

Their reviews indicate some pretty packed boats vs. private.

How big is your group? The private ride is basically 135 Euros for the group.

I see dates for Sept 3 - 10 blocked out and then some limited time departure slots for the two weeks after that.

When are you traveling?

If you are traveling during the Biennale I would be a bit leery of booking a water taxi thru a third party reseller- Get Your Guide- or the company that actually runs the boats if the official water taxi company says no water taxis available that week.
You might end up getting a cancellation at the last minute because GYG sold you something that the boat company can't actually deliver.

I would have alternate plans for getting to Venice at the ready.

I arrive next Wednesday. There's always the bus to the vaporetto.
