Has anyone stayed at the VRBO 111317 1BR apt. near the Rialto bridge? I can't find reviews. I've paid a deposit and am concerned about this week rental without independent reviews.

Go to the Tripadvisor website with this question. You may find more people that have stayed at the above location. I think Yahoo/answers also may have people that had an experience with this property. Let us know what answers you receive.

Thanks for the help! I hadn't had any luck with tripadvisor or yahoo/answers. I'll try slowtrav. I signed a kind of guarantee with VRBO but I'm still less comfortable arriving in Venice without hearing of someone else's successful stay than I could be with any kind of review. My wife and I going to be in Italy in May for seventeen days with Venice being the last week. Everywhere else seems great: some reasonably priced B & B's Rome, San Gim. and Ravello, and convents in Spoleto and Fiesole before the apt. in Venice. We're hoping we have little to worry about.

I have rented apartments from vrbo 3 times with good results. I think if the person you are dealing with is responsive, friendly and reasonable the apartment will be fine. It seems fine from the pictures, and I don't think it's possible to stay in a bad area in Venice -- particularly around the Rialto bridge.
