I have a week in Venice and this card looks like a great deal for Vaporetto, city museums and chorus churches. It offers, as add ons, 7 days of Wifi and Toilets for 20 Euro and 9 Euro, respectively. I'm pretty sure I want the wifi since there are good mapping apps available, but what about the Bathroom Pass? Has anyone purchased this? Just over a Euro a day. I know you can politely use them at Bars, especially if you buy a little something.
I've used the transport and Museum passes. Sorry, I'm old and I use an antiquated navigation method involving a piece of paper with printed lines. The hotels give them away for free as well as their own in-house wifi. I've never had to worry about the batteries needing recharged or not enough bars. And I've never bought a toilet pass.
Is it a skip-the-line toilet pass?
It is 2 words - Venezia Unica not one. It is an evolution of the Venice Card. IMHO these things are yet another way to seperate hard working tourists from their hard earned money.
Do you need all the things included? As always it is a question of doing the math.
My opinion, having looked at the website, is that every item included is at full retail value. For example it is €50 for the 7 day vaporetto pass part regardless if you get it from the ACTV (Venice vaporetto folks) or as part of the Unica card. Also, the churches component price is the same as if you had bought the Chorus card.
Thanks for the observation. Indeed it does look like Venezia Unica charges list price for ACTV and the Museum Pass. l'll be there 8 days and will use it enough to make it worth while. We'll at least visit just about all the museums included and many of the museums that give a discount. But it doesn't appear to be much of a discount, except perhaps the % off of other museums we'll be visiting. I think I'll pass on the WC pass, since we'll be stopping for coffee breaks and be in museums enough.
The wifi is still attractive since I have our daily walks in online maps, and knowing where you are on an interactive map in Venice is just cool. I know, you need to get lost in Venice. I've been lost--it's great. It's also expensive if you really want to get to that church before it closes and can't find it. Hotel wifi is great--in the hotel. And I don't want roaming charges on my phone.
Again--Thanks for the input.
