Does the #2 Vaparetto in Venice go both directions or only clockwise? I am staying west of St Mark's Square and will need to catch a Vaparetto to the train station. Does the #2 go back up the Grand Canal or only down the Grand Canal from the train station? Does anyone have a suggestion of the quickest transportation from San Marco to the train station? Thanks for your advice.

Here's a website that gives you the schedule for the various vaporetti: http://www.actv.it/en Ferrovia is the train station. Just put in your time and departure station. Easy peasy. Depends on the time of day. The No 2 runs from San Marco Giardinetti beginning at 8:18 every 20 minutes. Beginning 9:18 it runs every 10 minutes until 20:18. 24 minute trip. Here is the timetable:
