Venice - Unica City Pass

There is not a lot of information in past threads regarding this. Does anyone in the forum have past experience with these? Value for dollar? Flexibility? It seems that while it could be a value if you go to many of the sites the convenience of certain options (transport, admission, WiFi) seems to make it worthwhile.

For transport you can just buy a straight multiday vaporetto pass with optional airport bus adders. Hotels have wi-fi, but maybe you want it for real time mapping. Be careful, I see people almost walk into canals staring at their smart phones. And you get single admissions to the museums and sites listed. If you want to hit a lot of them, then probably worth it.

We did the pass for the water taxi and used it to the minute. I think it was the 72 hour pass. Worth EVERY penny. We liked Lido for the laid back comparative sprawl and went out there a couple times. We booked St. Marks from home for a couple bucks and got reservations and fast line - that's the way to do St. Marks. Go to the official website. We passed on the inclusive as we could not make value out of it.

If you are doing a mad-rush then the inclusive passes can be OK. Venice moves slowly IMHO and better experienced moving with it. We spent four nights there last June (at the Danieli) and would have been happy to spend two weeks there. Just sayin..

We were traveling with a 10 yer old - and by the time little miss got to Venice she was pooped out of Churches and Museums. We managed Padova (Scrovegni Chapel and St. Anthony's Basilica) and of course St. Marks', however beach and eating and relaxing were the order of those days.

Def get the vaparetto pass for however many days you are there, it is great. We got the Unica pass I don't know that it necessarily helped or saved us money. I won't get it again when we go back in the fall.
