Venice trip Arriving 8-21-19 Anybody want to share a water taxi from the Airport?

Hey Italy travelers - my wife and I are heading to Venice - leaving Toronto on flight AC1906 and arriving Venice 8-21-19 at 9:05 Am.. Anyone else out there on this flight or coming in early that day want to share a water taxi into Venice? Our experience last time was that we had to wait nearly 2 hours for the ferry outbound from the Airport ferry dock, and I would rather not waste that time again.
Thanks!

Tom

Why not take the bus to Piazzale Roma? Quick, cheap, easy.

Here's another vote for the non-romantic bus, if you're just looking to get into Venice quickly (and cheaply).

Yes I suppose the bus is an option.. We are staying on the north side of the Cannaregio, so I need to hop on a vaparetto at that point. I do get a boat ride view of things that way still.... sigh... just not quite the picturesque entry we had previously.

Not sure if the two hour wait was for an Alilaguna Line (large boat) or a shared water taxi (small boat). There is, in addition to the Alilaguna Line, now a shared water taxi from the airport. Haven't used it so don't know the details. Perhaps another post (or a google search) about the shared water taxi with give you some good information.

IMHO, the view from the Alilaguna boat isn't particularly enjoyable. You sit way down low in the water packed in with travelers and luggage, the whole boat stinks of diesel exhaust and the windows are filmed over (probably from the fumes).

Very true on the 'Alliguna environment'.. Still from the first time perspective, it was kinda neat. Which is why trying a water taxi would be a big improvement from that original experience. Looking at maps of where our lodging is located, I don't see a Vaparetto stop on the canal we are closest to, so I will likely be schlepping luggage a little ways regardless.
