What is the best way to get from the hotel to the airport. There will be 5 of us, 3 adults + 2 children ages 11 and 16 and I am sure too much luggage.

Your hotel should be able to advise you, I checked Rome2Rio.com and got several types of transportation (others include a walk from your hotel); water taxi price was listed at €40-50, but r2r's prices are not always accurate.

Water Taxi. Should be about 100 EUR total. Public transport is still going to run about 14 EUR per person, so in your case, a water taxi will be quick and easy.

I agree on the water taxi for this location. It is a nice fun ride, in addition to being convenient. Just do not take the Alilaguna. The last two time we used it, boarding at Rialto, we saw people left at the dock close to the Tre Archi area---there was no more room on the boat.

A water taxi would be best for that many people. I have traveled with a family of four and it is a hassle after a long and tiring trip. You don't want the stress of the possibility of missing your flight because the boat was filled. You don't mention what time your departure time is but a water taxi is best. I would ask the hotel to arrange one for you.

Thank you all :-). Our departure flight home is about 11.00 am. The water taxi sounds like the way to go.
