Venice Transportation

Hello all,

Im just looking for input and tips here. I will be in Venice for three full days and day four will be used to fly home. Do you pay for each one of your vaporetto rides or do you use a pass? I have been looking at the Rolling Venice Card but I haven't decided if I want to purchase it or not. Does anyone recommend this pass? If so, do you know of any restrictions? Like traveling to Murano and Burano.

The day of the flight I will be using an Alilaguna boat to get from the Rialto area to the airport.

I'd appreciate any info you have,
Thanks

There is a 3-day vaporetto pass for 40 Euro (72 hours). The time starts when you first activate the pass. I was there for 5 days this year and bought a 7-day pass for 60 Euro. You can go almost anywhere on the vaporetto pass, including Murano and Burano.

Do we buy the pass at the vaporetto stop? Is it a kiosk with a person or machine? We plan to pick up the vaporetto at the train station.
Thanks.

There is a ticket booth at Santa Lucia station, with attendants. To the left of the station as you exit. Attendants generally have English language.

It depends on where you're staying. I always stay in the Dorsoduro so the vaporetto pass makes sense for me. Friends of mine spent a week in Venice, stayed near San Marco and only took the vaporetto a couple of times.
