Hello,
My train doesn't arrive at the St Lucia station in Venice until around 11:00 PM (23:00). I can't seem to find any information on how late everything is open. We are trying to get to Castello area where we are staying. Any advice on the available transporation at that hour?

The vaporettos run all night. After the regular boats stop running, the "N" boat starts running. It will stop at San Zaccaria and Giardini in the Castello district from the train station.
Edit- The No 1 boat runs until 23:44, and the 5.1 boat runs until 15 past midnight. The "N" boat starts at 12 past midnight.

It won't take long to get to a boat from your train, just straight through the station and down the stairs or squiggly ramp.
I don't know when the ticket windows pack up for the day, nor the Hello!Venezia desks.
You can get a ticket from a machine next to the dock. If you don't have a chip and pin card have Euro notes and coins. If you can't make it work tell the boat worker when you board and they can issue a (slightly) more expensive ticket.
Don't just get on without a ticket.
