We have an 11:40 am return flight from Venice Marco Polo airport in April. We plan to take a vaporetto ride from near our hotel to the bus terminal at Piazzale Roma. From there, the ATVO bus to the airport. The bus to the airport runs every 30 minutes. We are a group of 4 persons. I can purchase the tickets ahead of time, but not specify a departure time. Do I need to be concerned with a bus being full, and having to wait 30 minutes for the next departure??
Just suggesting a possibly easier option - we always take the Aliguna boat to or from the airport into Venice. You might want to check if that could simplify your route.
I don't think so. In any case for 4 people it is probably just as cheap to take a taxi. The bus is I believe 8 euro, the taxi probably around 35 euro.
We were in Venice in June 2002, and took the ATVO bus. It was easy, comfortable and the bus itself was not full for our ride. We bought the ticket at the window, and boarded the bus without any problems. I looked back at our tickets and our flight was at 3:00 pm, so we were probably boarding the bus around 10:30/11:00. We had four people as well.
Thanks. The bus option is actually up to 10e. I didn't see the taxi option previously. For 4 persons, that seems like a good deal.
