Venice transfer from St. Angelo dock to Santa Maria Novella train station

What is the most economical and efficient way to get from the St. Angelo dock to the Santa Maria Novella train station? We are a party of 8 (4 adults & 4 teens)? We will each be taking 2 carryons.

Santa Maria Novella train station is in Florence. So you take the vaporetto from S. Angelo stop to the train station (Ferrovia) then take the train from that station (which is Venezia Santa Lucia) to SMN in Florence.

Are you talking about getting to the Venezia Santa Lucia train station in order to catch a train to Firenze Santa Maria Novella? If so, you would want to catch a vaporetto from the San Angelo stop to the Ferrovia stop. To be truly economical, you could get and use vaporetto passes for 1, 2, 3, or 7 days prior to that trip. Are you needing train info also?

Vaporetto Line 1 is scheduled to go between S. Angelo and the Ferrovie (railways) stop in 21 minutes. For train ticketing purposes, that's Venezia Santa Lucia station in Venice.

A private water taxi would fit your group but rates depend on the number of people and number of bags, which makes me wonder how big your 2 carry-ons per person actually are.

We will be traveling from Campo Sant Angelo (San Marco) to Santa Lucia train station and finally SM Novella in Florence. We will each have a 21" luggage and backpack. We already have our train tickets.

Taking the vaporetto will cost you 60 EUR and the water taxi twice that. Considering the time to load and unload the water taxi, and the frequency of the No 1 boat, It is likely to be quicker to take the vaporetto. Could be crowded though depending on your travel time.

Isn't a private water taxi within Venice ( not from the airport) more like 65 euros, not 120? And the private (not shared) ones charge per trip, not per person. Not sure if 8 people plus luggage will fit. But depending on the time of day, they may not all fit on one vaporetto.
