I'll give you three web-sites that will help you. But;
1st-you need to pre-purchase you tickets for the Vaporetto water bus. Make sure you know how many days you are going to stay in Venice and purchase accordingly. Venice-Connected. 2nd-You will need to take the express Vaporetto #2 red (#1 black makes too many stops) From the train station to St. Marks Square.That's around where The Giardinetti Reali is. 3rd- PRAY YOU'LL GET THERE ON TIME. Na... you'll make it. http://europeforvisitors.com/venice/articles/vaporetto_routes.htm http://www.actv.it/pdf/navigazione/Mappa_linee.pdf http://www.veniceconnected.com/ Or if money is NO object take a water taxi from the train station to where ever the The Giardinetti Reali is exactly. How long will you be in Venice and when?

I'm confused. Venice has no "royal gardens". It was a republic. There is a decent park on the far south end, but not worth rushing to for a tour. Is this something you've been sold from a travel agent?

I thought the same thing, but a quick google later, I learned that there are indeed Royal Gardens in Venice that date to the Napoleonic period. Go figure.

Ahh... but there is a Royal Garden. Ivette didn't specify if she was taking an actual tour of the The Giardinetti Reali or if that's where her tour meets or begins. It didn't seem to me to be that big a deal when I walked by it and if you blink you might miss it. I'm sure a lot of people just walk right buy it. Or it could be because it's surrounded and covered with all those trinket stalls around it. It's also surrounded with a beautiful iron fence around it that no one can see. Look it up in VeniceConnected/maps, around St. Marks Squre Vaporetto stop.

Oh, OK. I Googled, too. (Where is our seal friend from California who is usually on top of these things?) These are the gardens just between the Piazza San Marco and the Lagoon. They look unremarkable - just a small open space. Had no idea they had a "Royal" designation. Perhaps that was one of the defamations of Napoleonic occupation along with stealing the horses and Viennese orchestras... If they're worth a tour, it's the first I've heard. I still would not pay money or stress about a schedule to visit them. There is an intriguing garden behind San Giorgio, but I don't know what it takes to get in.
