Is it relatively easy to travel from Venice to Zurich Switzerland by train?
Easy but it’s a long ride. 7.5 hours if you can catch the early train leaving Zurich that has zero changes. I’d suggest breaking the trip up and stay the night somewhere along the way.
Oops sorry. You’re going the opposite way. Looks like Venice to Zurich has at least one train change. Either way with a trip that long I’d want to stop along the way for a night or two.
Most rail trips seem to go Venice to Milan and then north into Switzerland at Lugano then on to Lucerne and Zurich. Alternatively one can go Venice to Innsbruck across the Brenner Pass and then West to Zurich. As noted it is a long trip and over those distances I usually fly (my train limit is 6 hours). Good luck
There is a direct train that leaves Venice at 15:18 every day, but it arrives in Zürich rather late.
Is Zürich your actual destination, or are you going to somewhere else in Switzerland? Do not assume that you need to pass through Zurich for that.
You can book this on www.trenitalia.com, but be aware that you will need to spell Zürich as Zuerich as Trenitalia does not do umlauts...
Its a nice ride. Personally I prefer an 8 hour train ride over a 1 hour flight every time...
If going north to Innsbruck and then west, you would most likely be on the Arlberg Pass scenic train route (Innsbruck - Zurich). Just something to consider. I have not researched the Milan route. Maybe it is equally scenic?
There is also the slower, scenic option. Very doable in a day. The Bernina Express.
Venice > Milano Centrale by Trenitalia
Milan > Tirano via Lake Como by Trenord
Tirano > Chur by Rhaetische Bahn
Chur > Zurich by SBB
We did it the opposite direction.

Personally, I would go Swiss Air with a window seat for less than $150. additional and use the time saved to explore Zurich. The most direct train routes are not so scenic.
You can ask Google this and you'll get maps and rates, also Rome2Rio
