Venice to Verona day trip

We will have 3 nights in Venice in late August this year. We have been to Venice before and are considering a day trip to Verona. Is it worth it and reasonable to go just for a day? If yes, what are the recommendations for getting there and back? Do I need transport tickets in advance?
Thank you,
Lorie

I have done this asa day trip.
Take the train from Venezia SL to Verona. It is about an hour and a half.
Consider taking a taxi from the Verona station to downtown Verona, otherwise it is a boring 25 minute walk.
The museum Castel Vechio is marvellous. In an old castle, renovated to the design of Carlo Scarpa, Venice’s best known modern archi. Scarpa also did the redesign of the Querini Stampalia Foundation in Venice and that is worth a visit. Near Campo Santa Maria Formosa.

Yes - very easy to do. We did this last March:
Took the 9 AM train to Verona - bough tickets on-line via the Trenitalia website.
Had a 2 hr Verona Highlights Walking tour with Ways Tours - https://waystours.com
Had a lovely lunch at Antica Bottega del Vino - https://bottegavini.it/en/
Took the 5 PM train back to Venezia.
The walk to/from town is very easy - can't get lost - and fun to see the various areas of the town which you would miss if in a taxi or bus.

We did that in 2018. Loved Verona. Check out the Roman amphitheater and follow Ricks walk of the city. And eat some donkey !

We really enjoyed Verona, even the cheesy Juliet's balcony and Letters to Juliette. Verona is a lovely city.

Yes, absolutely worth it . Get an early start and return late in the day or early evening. That should give you enought time to cover just about everything. Skip Juliet's balcony as it's just an unauthentic tourist come on.

Very easy to get to Verona and back by train.
