Venice to Verona

we will be spending about one week in Venice in late April, and are looking to do a day trip to Verona, but have not found one that may include other stops (Padua and/or Treviso) along the way. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is that a reasonable question or course of action to take? I mean, is this doable? AND, if we take a train ourselves, can we get a walking tour in Verona - and which is recommended?

Thanks!!!

I think if you want to o a day trip to Verona, that should be it, Padua and Treviso each deserve their own day trips. It takes 1 1/2 hours to get to Verona from Venice on the fast regional train that goes at 10 past the hour.

All are easy to do on your own by train. You don't really need a guided walking tour- get the RS Italy guidebook- he includes walking tours, sight tours, etc for Verona and Padova.
Both Verona and Padova deserve more than a few hours- I wouldn't combine in a day trip. We spent 3 nights in each.
Haven't been to Treviso.

Padova is a lot closer. If you want to visit Scrovegni Chapel (very worthwhile) you'll need to get tickets asap.

Thanks so much. I really appreciate the input.

I know there is much to see all over Italy - which is why we are spending 10 days in Rome, but also want to experience areas just outside of Rome. Again, many tyhanks.

In Verona, take a taxi from the station to the centre. The walk is boring.
