Venice to Trieste Train

Jeff, the Italian train website is www.trenitalia.com. There are about 30 trains a day that go from Venice to Trieste. Just don't put in a date beyond June 1 as Trenitalia refreshes their schedules in Mid-June and Mid-December. Also, you will most likely be traveling on Regionale class trains. Thus, you won't see prices more than 7 days out from the time you are looking. I just viewed the schedule for Jan 21 and I could see the prices. Also, you can't buy Regionale tickets online unless its within 7 days of travel. The round trip train ride to and from Trieste is 4.0-6.0hrs depending on the train run you choose. Then, you have the ride on either a bus or train to Rijeka. The trains from Venice do depart earlier if you want to depart in the dark and make the most of the daylight. Just put in 00 for the time and you'll see the early runs.
